Every Frontenac CEO1ST project begins with an executive and a well-defined market opportunity.

The partnership begins even before we invest in a company. We work with our CEO1ST partner to analyze the market rigorously, to target attractive companies - and to formulate a contact plan to reach companies that are often not formally for sale. We frequently provide initial funding for salaries and expenses, recruitment of a complete management team, and pursuing acquisition candidates.

Our early work is designed to confirm the investment thesis and the opportunity for creating a market leader (and thereby, over time, equity value), and to validate the range of exit options. We also try to learn more about our CEO1ST partner, both through the experience of working together, and by undertaking a formal executive assessment.

Additionally, we align management's interests with those of Frontenac by specifying a substantial ownership opportunity for the executive team at an early stage of the CEO1ST process.
