Frontenac Company is a private equity firm based in Chicago and founded in 1971. We have over $1 billion under active management and are currently making investments from our ninth fund, which had its first closing in fall 2006.
Through our CEO1ST investment approach, we work with proven executives to acquire and grow successful middle-market companies, primarily in services businesses. Frontenac has invested in more than 150 such companies since our founding.
We have extensive experience in meeting the needs of selling shareholders, typically owner-operators, as they address complex business transition issues of liquidity, executive team enhancement, and growth. Our firm has a history of 200+ business transitions involving such owner-operated businesses.
