Mike Koldyke formed Frontenac in 1971, prior to which he was a vice president with Dean Witter. He represented Frontenac on the boards of numerous investments before retiring as an active member of the firm in 1993. He is recognized for his civic and philanthropic endeavors, most of which are related to his long-standing commitment to education. He is a trustee of several organizations, including the Golden Apple Foundation, which he founded; Launch, an academy for new principals in the Chicago Public Schools; and WTTW-TV/Channel 11. He is a graduate of Purdue University.
